Digital twin-based progress monitoring management model through reality capture to extended reality technologies (DRX)

Purpose The purpose of this research is to develop a generic framework digital twin (DT)-based automated construction progress monitoring through reality capture extended (RC-to-XR). Design/methodology/approach IDEF0 data modeling method has been designed establish an integration capturing technologies by using BIM, DTs and XR for monitoring. Structural equation (SEM) used test the proposed hypotheses skill model examine reliability, validity contribution understand DRX model's effectiveness if implemented in real practice. Findings findings validate positive impact importance utilizing technology logical such as DRX, which provides trustable, real-time, transparent Practical implications system captures accurate, real-time comprehensive at stage, analyses information precisely quickly, visualizes reports scale environment, facilitates flows communication, learns from itself, historical accessible online predict future actions, semantic digitalize with analytical capabilities optimizes decision-making process. Originality/value presents that integrates various technologies, DT (VR, AR MR), arraying steps on how these work collaboratively create, capture, generate, analyze, manage visualize data, reports.
